SYNIDE DA PHUNKMASTA

Synide is a Hip-Hop artist and producer. He Was born in Philadelphia where he lived until the age of nine when he and his mother moved to San Diego. He first became interested in Hip-Hop in his early teens. Early on he was influenced by artist such as Ice Cube, Redman and Busta Rhymes. By age fifteen Synide was well known through out his neighborhood and high school as dynamic rapper. People were in love with his fast flow and hype stage presence. Synide was heavily scouted by many management companies through out San Diego. At age sixteen Synide was signed to a management contract with one local company and was opening shows at night clubs for artist such as KAM.

By his late teen Synide had been through two management deals and one short lived group venture. Fed up with depending on others to provide production and management he started his own company call Phunk Master Entertainment. He began producing his own music and booking his own shows. One song entitled “Live” received spins on World Beat Radio (a Reggae and Hip-Hop station local to San Diego).

Shortly after starting Phunk Master Entertainment, Synide along with two of his friends from High School formed another group called “Tha Plantation”.Through out the late 90’s the group made there mark on the underground Hip-Hop Sean as one of San Diego’s most influential and innovative groups.”Tha Plantation” was often compared to groups like “Goodie Mob” due to their song content and subject matter. In 1999 they released their first self-titled EP which Synide co-produced. This was follow by two singles (”Ni****ism” and “Better off Dead”) which gained the attention on two independent and one major lable. They were also featured on”Centrorecording.com” (a website dedicated to promoting San Diego’s top artist) along side artist such as “Eeka-Mouse”, “Slightly Stoopid” and “Big Mountain”. Synide left the group in 2001 and move to Las Vegas where he currently lives.

Once again as a soloist Synide is setting the tone in Vegas’s growing underground sean. In the past year Synide has been a featured performer at “The Rock” nightclub (U.N.L.V.), the “Las Vegas Black Expo” and many more venues through the Vegas area. He produced the opening track for radio station Jammin Z90’s “The Funny Farm Morning Show”. In 2002 Synide co-produced “Unconscious Meditation” the solo debut from his former group mate Pappy. In 2003 Synide released his first solo single titled “Let’s Hope 4 Peace”. With little promotion the song reached number 20 on Acidplanet.com’s favorites list.

As we dive deeper into 2004 Synide is still steady at it. His first solo project “WhatUPearth” is due to drop in mid April and he has already began penciling his next project,”Unorthodox” which he hopes to release by late 2004, early 2005. For the most part he still continues to manage himself and is in the works of forming his own independent record label.
